Project Overview

Helping Calgary food lovers discover their next favorite bite.

Slice of Calgary is a food discovery app that empowers users to explore local restaurants with up-to-date menus, transparent pricing, real reviews, and personalized recommendations. Designed for the Calgary community, the app aims to eliminate the frustration of outdated information and decision fatigue when choosing where to eat.

This project was developed over a 4-month period as part of my Introduction to User Experience (DSGN 227) course project. It showcases the full UX process from initial research and ideation to prototyping and usability testing—applied to a real-world design challenge.

Responsibilities

I led a collaborative team of UX designers and researchers throughout this 4-month project. As the team lead, I was responsible for guiding the design direction, ensuring consistency, and facilitating collaboration across all phases of development. My contributions included:

  • Leading UX research strategy
  • Creating user flows and defining key interactions
  • Designing wireframes and high-fidelity UI screens
  • Building interactive prototypes
  • Planning and conducting usability testing
  • Coordinating team tasks and timelines
